Kerosene, or any other type of fuel for that matter, will only make the problem worse because it breaks down the paint faster and releases harmful fumes into your home. Radium paint cannot be restored to its original state without stripping it from the object using a strong chemical like sodium hydroxide, which requires an industrial-sized tank and plenty of ventilation measures. In addition to being difficult to implement at home, this process can also leave behind a toxic mess in their vicinities if you don’t take proper precautions.
